The Charleston Place

For the Charleston Place Hotel, I conducted in-depth research into Charleston's history, landmarks, and cultural heritage to create a piece that authentically celebrates the city. The cover design draws inspiration from the tassels featured throughout the hotel's interiors, while its signature wallpapers informed the piece's broader visual language. Local flora and fauna are woven throughout, further grounding the work in a sense of place.

Blending vintage cartographic inspiration with a contemporary, refined sensibility, the artwork features soft tonal washes and handwritten details that lend an intimate, artisanal touch. Conceived as both a walkable guide and a timeless keepsake, the map offers guests a beautifully illustrated glimpse into the neighborhood’s enduring legacy and vibrant energy.
